Agency Endowment
One of the largest non-profit organizations in Lee County was in financial trouble. It's primary source of income had dried up, because of a combination of bad weather, limited attendance at their annual fund raiser, and poor management. By the time the organization's board discovered the shortfall, it was clear that they wouldn't be able to make payroll in a month's time. Fortunately, years earlier, a supporter (long since deceased) had established an Agency Endowment Fund exclusively to benefit the charity. Coincidentally, the agency's crisis occurred near the first of the year, when the Foundation paid out its annual proceeds to endowed fund holders. At just the right time, the agency received a check from the Agency Endowment Fund. Additionally, agency board members worked with the Foundation staff to help fund a new executive director,
and conducted a strategic planning session for the board. Today the agency is flourishing.
