The Bonita Springs Community Foundation has developed these resources for the nonprofit agencies it serves in an effort to enhance the effectiviness of philanthropy in our communities. Through this sharing of resources we can provide a better quality of life for our citizens as well as meet the community needs.

Foundation Center Cooperating Collection

Southwest Florida Community Foundation has been chosen by the Foundation Center in New York to be a site for its Cooperating Collection.

 

The Cooperating Collection is an indepth, comprehensive database of grantmakers from all over the United States. The database includes the grantmakers’ fields of interest, their grantmaking history, contact information, as well as application and grantmaking process information.

 

This invaluable resource also administers research, education and training programs designed to advance philanthropy at every level.

 

There are two computer stations available at the Community Foundation office. The Collection is available to the community during the Foundation’s regular business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Agencies interested in accessing the Collection should call the Foundation office at 239-274-5900 to reserve a computer and time.

 

Before coming to use the Collection the first time, please go online to the Foundation Center’s website http://fconline.foundationcenter.org/ and familiarize yourself with their system by utilizing the Cooperating Collection tour. You will better utilize your reserved time at the Foundation office.

 

To supplement the Collection, the Community Foundation has also increased its Resource Lending Library of books, articles and publications available to area nonprofits. This library will continue to grow in order to stay current on the newest trends in philanthropy.

The Council on Foundations (COF) is a membership organization of more than 2,000 grantmaking foundations and giving programs worldwide. They provide leadership expertise, legal services and networking opportunities to their members and to the general public.

Tech Soup

The technology place for nonprofits. Powered by CompuMentor, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit technology assistance agencies, TechSoup.org offers nonprofits a one-stop resource for technology needs by providing free information, resources, and support. In addition to online information and resources, they offer a product philanthropy service called TechSoup Stock. Here, nonprofits can access donated and discounted technology products, generously provided by corporate and nonprofit technology partners.

Cause Communications

Cause Communications is dedicated to helping nonprofits succeed by using the same branding strategies for-profit corporations use to build market share. They provide a number of resources including a free communications toolkit and other books/articles for non-profit agencies.
